“Suppose you have multiple Google Accounts like me. I had a Gmail Account through which I used Orkut. I opened another account just for the sake of job purpose. Then, later I started my own Website, due to which I got yet another account. Then, I got a Google Apps Account for me. All in all four Google Accounts.”

Recently, Google made it easy to browse between these Google Accounts knowing that people have multiple Google Accounts. Because people tend to keep Personal and Professional life different, especially in East (Due to restrictions in offices). Another reason being release of new services like say Google+ over a span of time. Now, I want Google Reader Feeds from all these four Accounts which I have subscribed in long run to a single Google Apps Account of mine – admin@netizensstop.com.

The procedure is quite simple and employs these below stated simple steps :

Step 1 : Go to Google Reader & Login with your old Google Accounts.

Step 2 : Click the Gear Icon on Right Top & Select “Reader Setting”.

Step 3 : Click Import / Export.

As you can see in Screenshot above, if you are switching from another Feed Reader than you can import existing subscription into Google Reader by first exporting  your subscriptions in a standard format called OPML then uploading it here.

Step 4 : The very next option is “Download Your Data Through Takeout”. Takeout is yet another service from Google, using which you can take out your data associated with any Google Account. Click it.

Step 5 : In the next Window you will be taken to Google Takeout. There you can take out data from many of Google’s Services like Buzz, Contacts, Drive, Contacts, Youtube, etc. But, here we are restricting to Reader. Select “Reader” and click Click “Create Archive”. You can even see your Downloaded History under Downloads Tab.

Step 6 : Then after sometime a Zip file will be ready with name – “Email I.D. – takeout.Zip”. Download that one.

Step 7 : Unzip the Zip file and search for the XML file.

Step 8 : Now, Login to your new Google Account where you want to send these Subscriptions.

Step 9 : Again with this new Account, go to Settings then Import / Export.

Step 10 : Browse for the XML file (Coming out of previous take out at Step 6), then click Upload.

Finish, your Feed subscriptions are now with new account. Same procedure can be repeated with any number of accounts. Note that this process will not move your trends, followers, people you are following, folders, shared links, or other information associated with your Google Reader.

It is even possible to transfer starred items, between two Google Accounts. In the old account, go through your starred items, and share them. Log into your new account, and follow the old account’s shared items. You can then star those in the new account. I did this when I moved my Reader from my Gmail Account to Google Apps Account.

This personalization shows different backgrounds which continuously keep on changing.”

The very effect which was provided the famous “Webshots” software in Windows XP. A these desktop backgrounds are available as a bunch file called “Themes” in Windows 7 & Windows 8.  What we are going to do is we are going to extract these desktop backgrounds as single image files & then add that to Windows 8 Start Screen. When, I am writing this post I don’t see any such things when I search on Google. I don’t know yesterday how it came to my mind.

So coming back to the point, this process can be performed in simple two step process.

1. Extracting.
2. Changing default Start Screen.

• Extracting File for Customising Windows 8 Start Screen :

Tough there are many a ways of doing this. The best and easiest is what I am going to suggest you all. First go to this LINK (Link might change depending on your country, also many other sources are available,  just Google) , there are numerous themes to search from, provided officially by Microsoft.

• Click details to see the Desktop Backgrounds.
• Download the theme then.
• Activate the theme.
• Now right click on Desktop & select from dropdown “Personalization”.
• Click “Desktop Backgrounds”.
• Now drag all images to Desktop. As shown in figure below.

Also Read : Make your own Windows 7 Themes.  In doing so, you can also customize Sounds, Screen Savers & Colours with your  images.

• Now making custom Start Screen with Image Files.

Start Screen is an added feature in Windows 8. It consists of Windows 8 Apps. A Start Background & a Scroll Bar. Unfortunately Microsoft hasn’t given much of  the power to customize the Start Screen except option to choose Colour & 20 designs to select from. But I can give you a name of one small utility which can be used to change the Background of Start Screen. Let’s enjoy playing with it & join my party.

The freeware is called “Start Screen customizer”, which even doesn’t need any installation at all. Download links are : LINK1 (Download, unzip & rename .ex_ to .exe and execute), Link2 (Box Download, unzip rename .ex_ to .exe).   With this small utility you can personalize the look and feel of Windows 8 Start Screen.

You can go back and restore the default settings, can use a custom image as the background, as well as modify the colours and their opacity. Here, there is also a option to set Desktop Background as Windows 8 Start Screen, but it didn’t work for me. Its a bit buggy, at the least you can keep a single image file in synchronization (When background changes images in Start Screen does not change).

Windows 8 Start Screen Customizer

You can choose a picture and select the cropped area to be shown as background picture, set the Start Screen transparency level,  set the no. of rows for your tiles, run it on start-up hidden, so you can see your custom background as soon as this tool starts.

Final : Click “Select Pictures” & select images extracted from Windows Themes. Click Slideshow. Also, select “Run at startups”. Click “Apply & Save”.

There is one another tool to mention here Decor8 which is not free. But, Techspot offers this free with a 30-day trial. & later asks a modest $4.99 for the app. Decor8 features options that can change the Windows 8 Start Screen radically, not only by applying a different background image but also by modifying the color scheme. The layout is very simple, with the menus on the left-hand side & options are displayed on the right.

Changing the background picture is a simple job that does not entail more steps than selecting the image and applying it. Apart from having a batch of beautiful images from the developer, you can also add your own image. Furthermore, the application can work with entire folders of images and rotate them at a user-defined frequency. Thus, we can even Customize Start Screen with images from Windows Themes.

Before everything else, this is an old news of getting Windows Media Center for free. But, my intention of writing this post now is that recently I came to know that one of my friend has got Windows Media Center on 90-day trial version of Windows 8. And everything is working fine for him. This means that whole of a Windows 8 software for Free. What happens is after you add Windows Media Center on Windows 8 Pro, the old Product Key is replaced with a new Product Key. Step 4: When you get the Product Keys in your Email then swipe/move your Mouse to right top edge of the screen, (Win + C) also works. Click Search enter “Add Features” and then tap or click Settings. Tap or click “Add features to Windows 8” and then click “I already have a Product Key”. Enter your product key and click Next. Read the terms of license, select the check box to accept the license terms, and then click Add features.    If you were running Windows 8, your PC will restart automatically and Windows 8 Pro With Media Center will be on it. If you were running Windows 8 Pro, your PC will restart automatically and Windows Media Center will be available for use. After the last restart, you will be able  logon normally and will see that Windows Media Center appears as a tile on the Start screen, below is a picture of Windows Media Center.

The Product Keys like your offer also expires on January 31st 2013. If you want to play Blue-ray, you need to get codec from any third party services. The DVD codec that comes with Windows 8 Media Center pack only works with Windows Media Center, it does not work with Windows Media Player.
